Hot Chicken Soup, Part 1(a)

Something just occurred to me. If, as Mark Victor Hansen alleged during our CNN debate, Dr. Laura ("honor thy father and mother") Schlessinger was indeed aware, in a timely fashion, of the death of her 77-year-old mother, Yolanda... Well, are we then to conclude that the talk-show host knowingly left her mom's corpse to rot in a Beverly Hills condo for several months, till police found it on their own in late December 2002?

Why do I think Dr. Laura would prefer the original version of the story...?

Shame, shame on you, Steve! You should let the dead rest in peace and stop harrassing Dr. Laura, less you irreverably bruise her psyche and she must seek counseling from Dr. Phil on national TV.

Mr. Hansen might also be a fragile one too. Continue picking on him, and he might release the Giant on you...

I know, I know...bring it on! Right?

Provocation is the name of the game...but that was disrespectful discussing her mother's corpse rotting, Steve. So she didn't have a glorious relationship with her mother, so what? "Honor thy Mother and Father" - only if thy mother and father are worthy of honor!

I think "anonymous" makes a fair point. I agree that the image of a mother's rotting corpse is, well, disagreeable. But remember, I'm not really saying this in my own voice. I'm merely trying to underscore the absurdity of the excuses these people shamelessly make for themselves. I urge "anonymous," and others who might've taken offense, to re-read the item. The point I'm making here is valid: My nemesis on CNN tried to embarrass me in front of a nationwide audience by "correcting" what I said in my book about the circumstances of Yolanda Schlessinger's demise. Well, if he's right--and Dr. Laura did know that her mother died, at the time of the actual event--the only possible conclusion is that she PURPOSELY (for whatever reason) left her mother's body undiscovered in that condo (where police did in fact find it in an advanced stage of decomposition). That's a pretty disgusting thought in its own right... What other way is there to look at it??
