"You will tell your friends to buy this book... You will tell your friends to buy this book... You will...."

Meanwhile, at this writing, SHAM is doing extraordinarily well among books about hypnosis and related areas of mind-management. For what reason, I cannot tell you. But it is currently Amazon's No. 6 among books about hypnosis overall, No. 7 among related books on cassette, and 8th among such books that focus on conquering stress. None of this is going to make me a rich man (or even very much less poor), but it's fun to see the numbers, anyway.

I'm somewhat reminded of the morning, early in SHAM's run, when I checked Amazon and learned that my book was "No. 3 in Dublin, OH." Not quite as jazzy (or profitable) as being, say, "No. 3 in New York, New York." But validating in its way. And I hear that Dublin, OH is a very nice town....

Vanessa, I think I owe you an email. I seem to recall something about a translation...but it came during a several-day period when I was having massive computer problems and a lot of things ended up getting deleted. Can you resend it, if you would? Sorry for the delay.

LOL Steve, another good one!

Where do you come up with these great titles? And the art too, when you use art. Both usually have the perfect note of irony or poignancy depending on what the blog calls for. Connie's are also very good, I must say.

Now, if only hypnosis really worked- I have an idea or two. ;-)

Does that mean people fall alseep when they read it? I thought hypnosis was something for relaxation. Does this mean your book is soothing for people? I got a feeling that was not your goal with the book, but if it sells, what the heck.

Hmmm... looks like you're giving Joe Vitale a run for his money. For quite some time now he has marketed himself as the first hypnotic marketer (among other things, such as being the Buddha of the Internet, etc.). He has also produced a lot of material purporting to teach people how to write hypnotic sales copy, and he's always talking about 'hypnotic' writing.

Anyway, congratulations! There's a lot of life left in SHAM yet... and I have a feeling you'll be winning a whole new group of readers who are becoming ever more disillusioned by the selfish-help industry.

Dublin, OH? I spent a week there one day. It was a lot like Toledo, but without the glitz. Or maybe Youngstown, but without the nightlife.
