We interrupt our regularly scheduled program...

For music lovers only: This may be the prettiest movie theme I've ever heard. The chord at :37-:38 is genius; it just reaches inside you.Link

Very nice. You would be hard pressed to upstage this one though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-M7h3wtSG2k

Jason: No argument there. So'42 has always been high on my list. And it's one of those songs that has even more meaning if you've seen the film--e.g., I don't usually like C&W, but after seeing The Executioner's Song, I can't hear Waylon Jennings do Big Blue Ball without choking up.

Although come to think of it, we can't forget that Shadow of Your Smile was also a film theme, and that may still be my all-time choice for prettiest and most haunting song ever written, especially when it's interpreted by jazz artists with all the replacement chords (i.e. as opposed to some of the more schmaltzy pop interpretations).
